Unpacking a stage gives the error: "tar: Unrecognised file type". Tried with stage 2 and 3 from 2004.1 and 2004.2. Compiling (on another machine) and using a GNU tar fixed the problem.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Boot from network using gentoo-sparc_1.4_rc4-20040102.tftpboot
2.Copy a stage-archive on the machine
3.Unpack it with tar
Actual Results:  
tar: Unrecognised file type

Expected Results:  
A fully unpacked stage.

Please try the new experimental tftpboot images at http://dev.gentoo.org/~weeve/tftpboot/images/ as they fix this problem.
