amarok-2.8.90-r2 wants to downgrade kde-apps/audiocd-kio-16.12.0 to kde-apps/audiocd-kio-16.08.3 when using cdda use flag The recent update of audiocd-kio-12.12.0 caused amarok to complain. Playing with masking/unmasking seamed to cause more issues. I forced amarok to build with kde-apps/audiocd-kio-16.12.0 and it appears to function as it did with kde-apps/audiocd-kio-16.08.3. My guess is the build/eclass needs to be tweaked for this, but not my call as there may be something underlying that may be an issue. I really doubt it works, did you try to access/play from an audio CD?
I figured out what I had to to get it to install and not complain about downgrading. Had to unmerge kde-meta, kdemultimedia-meta, and kde-apps-meta. I am content with this, but others may be having the same issue. This bug can be closed it you like. I would close it, but thought you may want to make that decision.

In the meantime, if you don't use audio CDs, disable cdda USE flag for amarok.
