Description Kenton Groombridge 2016-12-19 02:17:59 UTC
amarok-2.8.90-r2 wants to downgrade kde-apps/audiocd-kio-16.12.0 to kde-apps/audiocd-kio-16.08.3 when using cdda use flag

The recent update of audiocd-kio-12.12.0 caused amarok to complain. Playing with masking/unmasking seamed to cause more issues. I forced amarok to build with kde-apps/audiocd-kio-16.12.0 and it appears to function as it did with kde-apps/audiocd-kio-16.08.3.

My guess is the build/eclass needs to be tweaked for this, but not my call as there may be something underlying that may be an issue. For me, it has been working fine with the updated kde-apps/audiocd-kio-16.12.0.

I really doubt it works, did you try to access/play from an audio CD?
Comment 2 Kenton Groombridge 2016-12-19 23:33:55 UTC
I figured out what I had to to get it to install and not complain about downgrading. Had to unmerge kde-meta, kdemultimedia-meta, and kde-apps-meta.

I am content with this, but others may be having the same issue. This bug can be closed it you like. I would close it, but thought you may want to make that decision.

In the meantime, if you don't use audio CDs, disable cdda USE flag for amarok.
