A new version is available upstream. There's only one documented change:

  Version 1.1.9 (November 30, 2016).
    Removed the SuiteSparse source code from the distribution.

Since our 1.1.8 ebuild is doing that anyway,

  python_prepare_all(){
      epatch "${FILESDIR}"/${P}-setup.patch

      rm -r src/C/SuiteSparse*/ || die

the new version should be a little cleaner.
