ebuild(1) and emerge(1) [and probably others] do not document the return status codes (i.e. "$?") provided by portage.  Can the appropriate section be added to the
portage man pages?

Furthermore, perhaps there should be a few more return codes implemented to allow shells to report better "error" conditions when driving portage commands.
