Doesn't break anything, just something potentially related. Every other kde4 app also ignores Oxygen icons in tray, so the behaviour is probably consistent. What are these actions supposed to do? Due to the different codepaths it is entirely possible that those features are simply not available yet with Qt5. Maybe there is an upstream bug tracker already? 2.0.1-r1 does not enable any kind of integration by default, it is building completely with Qt5 instead of Qt4, and that likely isn't going to change.

They are default tray icon actions for any media player. mouse3 toggles pause, scroll controls volume. Play/pause and volume controls are obviously a key feature. If they're not yet implemented for the qt5 build, perhaps cantata is not ready to be built against qt5? After all, this used to work for years. I didn't find any upstream bugs for this, most are about missing tray icons. In my case, the icon is present, shows the context menu (and it works), MPRIS and notifications are all working, just not the direct mouse3/scroll actions on icon.
Then it should be filed upstream. There certainly is no reason for that not to work coming from Qt5, as the MPRIS widget and my kmix systray icon accept mouse wheel events just fine. cantata-2.1.0 is expected this month. If it is a dealbreaker for you, there is still 2.0.1(-r0) in tree.

Please report the issue upstream. If it turns out to be a packaging bug re-open this is bug.
