I see a similar bug over at the arch linux bug tracker: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xorg-server-xwayland-git/ Can you try emerge-ing dev-libs/wayland-protocols?
dev-libs/wayland-protocols was not installed. emerge -1a dev-libs/wayland-protocols solved the problem. Thanks
Should wayland-protocols be a dependencies of xorg-server?
