Description Daniel Webert 2004-08-10 12:48:40 UTC
emerge (2.0.51_pre17) gives following error after
- evas-1.0.0.20040207_pre12 was kicked out of cvs and
- evas-1.0.0pre13 entered instead ...

<snap>
root@porkoo ~ #
===> emerge -uDvp world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies \
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ">=x11-libs/evas-1.0.0.20040207_pre12".

!!! Problem with ebuild app-misc/enotes-0.1.20040508
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.

!!! Depgraph creation failed.
root@porkoo ~ #
</snap>

maybe we can make a optional switch for emerge to ignore/mark this/these package in the output-list of emerge and show the rest ...
Comment 1 Marius Mauch (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-10 19:52:42 UTC
That's a broken dependency, impossible to generate a valid dependency tree out of that.
Comment 2 Jason Stubbs (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-11 04:13:51 UTC
At a minimum emerge should show where the broken dependency comes from, and showing the rest of the graph (via the -v option) isn't impossible either.
Comment 3 Nicholas Jones (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-21 18:19:44 UTC
It does show it. Says enotes.
