Created attachment 452848 [details] the ebuild, (but there will be a pull-request soon) Hi, I want to add the maim ebuild to the gentoo system to make awesome screenshots. Package Description : maim (Make Image) is a utility that takes screenshots of your desktop using imlib2. It's meant to overcome shortcomings of scrot and performs better in several ways. p.s.: This is my first submit (but wont be my last) so please point out to me if I can make our life better :D
Thank you for your contribution. DESCRIPTION="takes screenshots of your desktop is designed to be an improved scrot" -> DESCRIPTION="Commandline tool to take screenshots of the desktop" more details in LONGDESCRIPTION Try to stay neutral and avoid "A is better than B" as this may change and can be very subjective. It is better to name the working features. If you are interested in proxy maintaining an ebuild I suggest you to contact https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Proxy_Maintainers and perhaps you are interested in setting up your own public overlay. see also: https://github.com/fkmclane/overlay/tree/master/media-gfx/maim
I created a pull-request https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/2796
(In reply to Jonas Stein from comment #1) >Try to stay neutral and avoid "A is better than B" as this may change and > can be very subjective. It is better to name the working features. > I just copied the description the tool posted itself. But you are right, being neutral is better. > If you are interested in proxy maintaining an ebuild I suggest you to > contact > https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Proxy_Maintainers I'll do. > and perhaps you are interested in setting up your own public overlay. Is that important? I try to put it as soon as possible in THE public overlay. > see also: > https://github.com/fkmclane/overlay/tree/master/media-gfx/maim I got the original ebuild from there. P.S.: Please also have a look at my pull-request : https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/2796
I closed this bug, because the pull-request was merge.
