I'm using it on another Cubox-i and it's compiling and working fine.

Can you please attach the output of $ emerge --info libvirt for reference?

I am curious what virtualization you have enabled. lxc I guess?

I get the following bad dependencies for arm:

  dependency.bad [fatal]        2
   app-emulation/libvirt/libvirt-2.3.0.ebuild: DEPEND: ~arm(default/linux/arm/13.0)
[     'app-misc/scrub',
      'net-firewall/firewalld',
      '>=sys-cluster/glusterfs-3.4.1',
      'sys-kernel/openvz-sources:*',
      '>=app-emulation/qemu-0.13.0',
      'app-emulation/virtualbox',
      'app-text/xhtml1']
   app-emulation/libvirt/libvirt-2.3.0.ebuild: RDEPEND: ~arm(default/linux

Preliminary set of package use masks:

  app-emulation/libvirt glusterfs firewalld openvz qemu virtualbox

emerge --info libvirt
Comment 4 Stefan Langenmaier 2016-11-12 15:38:06 UTC
Yes I'm using libvirt with lxc. I'm currently using the version 1.3.5 on some systems and 2.1.0-r2 on another.

I'm not using the version 2.3.0. I haven't tried it (mostly because of the dependencies it wanted).

An automated check of this bug failed - repoman reported dependency errors:
