I get the exact same problem. I've attached the access violation summary.

emerge sync
emerge celestia

this is fixed in portage
Comment 5 Arnaud Boudou 2004-08-15 00:13:00 UTC
I'm sorry, but I stilll get the install issue with celestia-1.3.2-pre20040731-r1
Comment 6 Dan A. Dickey 2004-08-17 09:47:35 UTC
Ok - 3 days now.
An emerge sync followed by an emerge celestia still
produces the access denied problem.
Please re-open this bug.

I did notice a few problems very early on in the emerge:
/usr/portage/app-sci/celestia/celestia-1.3.2_pre20040731-r1.ebuild: line 79: set-kdedir: command not found
/usr/portage/app-sci/celestia/celestia-1.3.2_pre20040731-r1.ebuild: line 80: set-qtdir: command not found

Perhaps this is the problem?
Comment 7 Arnaud Boudou 2004-08-20 08:24:09 UTC
Emerge is OK with KDE 3.3.0
Comment 8 Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-22 08:37:54 UTC
Hi,

please have a look at bug #60584 maybe this could help here, too.

Comment 9 Dan A. Dickey 2004-08-23 07:53:16 UTC
It works now for me.
I did upgrade to KDE 3.3.0 before
trying celestia again.
