Description Hinrik Örn Sigurðsson 2004-08-07 09:55:15 UTC
I have the Soldier Of Fortune cd(bought), and if I try to emerge it, I can't get past this warning(the cd is mounted at the time):

 * Please insert the cdrom for soldieroffortune now !
 * Press return to scan for the cd again
 * or hit CTRL+C to abort the emerge.

And if I `export CD_ROOT=/mnt/cdrom` while the cd is still mounted, and try to emerge:

 * Found CD #1 root at /mnt/cdrom

However, I remember the game installed nicely about a year ago, that is, before the following change was made:

I'll look into it when I get a chance
Comment 2 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-22 10:51:45 UTC
Can you attach the output of "ls -lR /mnt/cdrom" with the CD mounted?
Comment 3 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-29 06:03:07 UTC
REOPEN if you have more information

Coolio... you are alive... =]
Comment 6 Larry Kopenkoskey 2004-11-18 08:12:10 UTC
Looks like your trying to install the Windows version of SOF on a linux machine...
Comment 7 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-18 08:23:48 UTC
Larry is correct.

You *must* have the Linux version of Soldier of Fortune to use the ebuild, or to install Soldier of Fortune, at all. The two discs are not compatable in any way.
Comment 8 Hinrik Örn Sigurðsson 2004-11-22 04:01:05 UTC
Yes, you're right, I have the Windows version. But why did it work last time? :P

Very strange...
