I have the Soldier Of Fortune cd(bought), and if I try to emerge it, I can't get past this warning(the cd is mounted at the time): * Please insert the cdrom for soldieroffortune now ! * Press return to scan for the cd again * or hit CTRL+C to abort the emerge. And if I `export CD_ROOT=/mnt/cdrom` while the cd is still mounted, and try to emerge: * Found CD #1 root at /mnt/cdrom >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking sof-1.06a-cdrom-x86.run to /var/tmp/portage/soldieroffortune-1.06a/work >>> Source unpacked. nostrip >>> Install soldieroffortune-1.06a into /var/tmp/portage/soldieroffortune-1.06a/image/ category games-fps * Copying files... this may take a while... install: cannot stat `/mnt/cdrom/bin/x86/glibc-2.1/sof': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `/mnt/cdrom/README': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `/mnt/cdrom/kver.pub': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `/mnt/cdrom/sof.xpm': No such file or directory tar: /mnt/cdrom/paks.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file or directory tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now tar: Child returned status 2 tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors !!! I'll look into it when I get a chance
Can you attach the output of "ls -lR /mnt/cdrom" with the CD mounted?
REOPEN if you have more information
Created attachment 40964 [details] output of `ls -lR /mnt/cdrom`
Coolio... you are alive... =]
Looks like your trying to install the Windows version of SOF on a linux machine...
Larry is correct. You *must* have the Linux version of Soldier of Fortune to use the ebuild, or to install Soldier of Fortune, at all. The two discs are not compatable in any way.
Yes, you're right, I have the Windows version. But why did it work last time? :P Very strange...
