Hello,

I'm willing to maintain media-tv/kodi as a proxy maintainer.

The package has been unmaintained for a while now. For example, a request to bump the version was created almost 6 months ago in bug 581276 and has been ignored. The current maintainer (vapier) hasn't responded to my attempts to contact him via email and IRC.

+1 for this.

The kodi ebuild has been lagging behind upstream significantly for several years, even worse since the creation of the ugly and non-standard "java" use flag workaround (nobody I've spoken to about it knows how to get the custom generated addons tarball for each release onto the mirrors).

If this does go through, I'd also appreciate being CC'd on any pull request / change sets. I did a bit of work helping on the unofficial kodi overlay (https://github.com/frace/kodi-overlay) during some of the worst periods of lag and I'd be happy to collaborate on addressing a couple of the open issues.

@SpanKY wouldn't you mind if we add this user as co-maintainer since he already repaired some bugs?
