When I try to reinstall all ROS packages after Alexis Ballier changed ROS' package path (#595004; btw. thank you!), the following packages fail to merge:
* dev-ros/controller_manager-0.11.1,
* dev-ros/controller_interface-0.11.1,
* dev-ros/geometric_shapes-0.5.1,
* dev-ros/diagnostic_aggregator-1.8.10,
* dev-ros/tf2_eigen-0.5.13, and
* dev-ros/urdf-1.12.4

The error messages seem to be consistent problems with CMake not finding various packages. For instance dev-ros/controller_manager-0.11.1 complains about missing boost:

Since I was able to install the packages before the changes in #595004 and the missing packages differ, I assume that this is a more general problem (e.g., incomplete CMake search path of some kind). Nonetheless, I will try to offer more information for each package individually (see upcoming comments below).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run "emerge -avt1O /usr/share/*/package.xml" as suggested in #595004.
2. Try to re-emerge packages that might be problematic (e.g., dev-cpp/eigen, dev-ros/bondpy). Try to run the command from above again, without making any progress.

To investigate the problems a little, I ran CMake manually from the BUILD_DIR's of the failed emerge runs. I found that dev-ros/controller_manager's missing boost problem seems fixable by explicitly searching for "Boost" and making the "catkin_package(…)" call explicitly use "Boost" instead of "boost".

(Please note that I did not test the patch together with the ebuild, but merely modified CMakeLists.txt, ran "cmake .." manually, and then created the patch.)

For dev-ros/tf2_eigen's problem with Eigen, I had to make the "catkin_package(…)" call depend on "Eigen" instead of "eigen", and also give CMake several paths to various *Config.cmake files:

Please note that "cmake_modules" is really a ROS package. It is not something CMake specific.

  If it is a catkin package it can be declared as CATKIN_DEPENDS instead
  without find_package()-ing it.

When I tried to emerge the problematic packages today, everything installed as they should. After reporting this issue I installed dev-util/catkin-0.7.4 and ran "emerge -avt1 --keep-going $(eix -I -C ros --only-names)".
