please bump to 1.10.0.2
sorry, version is actually 1.10.0.1
Waiting on the PTB to do the PR on github
I'm not quite sure but it seems when this new version is started, X eats really a lot of memory. last time I noticed 8G for X process. I'll update this task when figured out if the problem is really in this skype version.

Thanks for noticing. However you should file a separate bug as this one is reserved for the version bump.
new version is in portage tree. Not bothering with stablereq becuase even upstream calls it alpha.
It seems my memory problem was not in skype. At least if it's just started and no calls/chats, I don't see any leak anymore. But Skype itself takes ~720M ram. But that's Ok. It's alpha and Microsoft knows exactly how to worsen their products.
Skype worked fine until microsoft got its grubby paws on it. They completely butt-raped the architecture and turned it into a centralized snoop-box.
Just to be clear, Skype never worked. I recall the time when I had to run it with ulimit because on 4 out of 5 attempts of starting it, it just ate all my RAMs, caused massive hang and then got OOM-killed. With reasonable ulimit however, it just quickly died 4 times, and started correctly at the 5th attempt or so. Also, it could be worse. It could be Orible who took it. See how they broke Java, Solaris...

For the record though I've personally never had any trouble with skype until microsoft ruined it. No wonder telegram is so popular.
