Just a request to get gentoo-dev-sources to track the latest patches in ACPI. The patches make ACPI much more reliable, usable and stable then the stock kernel version. The stock kernel version is from March 2004 however the ACPI team looks like they release updated patches for each kernel version, so if we could merge those in that would help a lot of users (especially gentoo-laptop users)

No, sorry, we will not track those kind of patches in gentoo-dev-sources.

If you want to apply these patches, you are pretty much on your own, as no
one other than the acpi group will support such a kernel.
