Description Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2016-09-18 09:07:15 UTC
It would be nice to remove the old masked ebuild if possible to stop relying on eapi2 gnome2-utils.eclass support

Thanks

Hi,

I can't do this right now, because xcdroast-0.98_alpha16-r3 is not yet stable on all arches (pending ppc and sparc), see bug 345337. As soon as this will be done, I'll remove old version.

Well, once the package was "decreased" to hardmask, I think there is no need to wait for that, I mean, compared with hardmask, testing is already "better" (specially now that the relevant arches users will need to unmask it in all ways).

But do whatever you prefer of course

Removed now.

I agree with you that in this particular case there were no need to wait for newer version stabilization on all arches, but some devs are extremely picky to follow the book even when it makes no practical sense (e.g. REPLACING_VERSIONS bikeshedding), so I'm trying to be on the safe side.

No problem... and thanks! :)
