Description Wes 2004-08-03 15:10:55 UTC
The newest release of baselayout includes a new /etc/profile which has only a very simple prompt defined, relying on the sourcing of another file, /etc/bash/bashrc, to implement the more colorful, elaborate prompt we're used to. Only problem is that /etc/bash/ doesn't exist, let alone /etc/bash/bashrc, so I'm left with only a very simple prompt. While not serious, its odd that /etc/profile would be changed to source a file that isn't there. What package is supposed to supply /etc/bash/*? The bash ebuild and the baselayout ebuild don't.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge baselayout-1.10.2
2. login
3.

Actual Results:
no adverse effects, just a bland prompt

Expected Results:
colorful prompt

It's in bash-2.05b-r10 and all of the bash-3.0 ebuilds
