Description Olliver Schinagl 2016-09-01 20:53:05 UTC
Wanting to switch over to booting with systemd, I noticed I wasn't able to bootctl install, due to a EFI files. Enabeling the gnuefi useflag and re-merging systemd then fails due to the following errors.

P.S. Not sure if i need systemd-boot package at all for this, as systemd blocks systemd-boot.
[ebuild  N     ] sys-boot/systemd-boot-231::gentoo  0 KiB
[blocks B ] sys-apps/systemd ("sys-apps/systemd" is blocking sys-boot/systemd-boot-231)
So i'm guessing it is for when wanting to boot with systemd, but still use openrc? E.g. former gummiboot.

Build log of systemd 232

The new systemd package still fails with the efi flag.
Comment 4 Mike Gilbert gentoo-dev 2016-11-13 00:29:14 UTC
Your gnu-efi seems to be broken. What version do you have installed?

Try re-building it, and if it still fails, attach a build log from gnu-efi.

gnu-efi build log

I'm on gnu-efi-3.0.3; see the attached build log
Comment 6 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2017-04-20 12:39:00 UTC
are you still hitting this? Did you try systemd-233 too?
Comment 7 Valentin Marinov 2017-04-20 13:17:27 UTC
I am hitting this with systemd-233-r1
Comment 8 Valentin Marinov 2017-04-20 14:13:14 UTC
Works with sys-boot/gnu-efi-3.0.2. Thanks to Mike Gilbert for the hint.
Comment 9 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2017-04-21 09:43:58 UTC
is it then a regression of gnu-efi-3.0.3 over 3.0.2? Sadly we have 3.0.3 in stable... can you try with 3.0.4? Maybe we could stable that newer version if it fixes this
Comment 10 Valentin Marinov 2017-04-24 20:45:21 UTC
I am on ~amd64, systemd-233-r1 fails to link with gnu-efi-3.0.4.
Comment 11 Mike Gilbert gentoo-dev 2017-04-24 21:17:17 UTC

I cannot reproduce the problem with any version of gnu-efi.
Comment 12 Valentin Marinov 2017-04-29 06:33:20 UTC
I removed the lto flag between sys-boot/gnu-efi-3.0.2 and sys-boot/gnu-efi-3.0.4 attempts, that might have caused the problem. The other thing me and Olliver Schinagl have in common is the -march=native.

I should have mentioned this as I resolved the issue, sorry for that. But re-emering gnu-efi-3.0.3 seemed to have fixed this (according to my logs).
