Hello, Please rename my empty user overlay, https://gitweb.gentoo.org/user/camisa.git to "Chicago" or "chicago", preferably "Chicago" since I see some overlays do begin with a capital letter. Also, please scrub the personal identifying information from this overlay as I am recovering from identity theft and do not wish to make it easy for bad actors to learn my associations with collisions upon a simple name search. Currently, first name, middle initial and last name appear on the gitweb page along with my email address. Also, if possible please link me to the original ticket by email, so I may be certain the fingerprint of the key I used when creating the repository is worth maintaining or if it should be updated in the near future as well. Thanks for your support!! Best Regards, -Chicago
I'm sorry that this took so long. So, I have disabled your old repository and it should disappear from gitweb soon. Since it was empty, there were no need to authenticate anything. Now, about getting a new one -- I don't think we currently support hosting overlays without owner credentials. I don't mind removing them from description but I don't know if gitolite or gitweb won't expose your real name anyway. I suggest hosting your repository on a public hosting like GitHub. Then we can add it to repositories.xml with your nickname.
Hi Michał, Thank you for disabling the old repository. It does appear to be removed from gitweb at this point. I do prefer to host the user overlay here on Gentoo Infrastructure and was just about to place some work there for testing by others. Would we be able to reduce full name to a first initial and last initial on the gitweb page of a prospective new user overlay? I will be certain to comply with full identity requirements to satisfy the greater Gentoo organization; just simply wish to limit public exposure. If the above is acceptable, I will provide a new key fingerprint in this bug request and proceed as advised. Best Regards, -Chicago
I'm going to reassign this to Infra as I don't feel like this is not something overlays can decide on. That is, if you're still around after all that delay for which I am sorry.
Hello, Thanks for the bump. Yes, I'm still here -- been a Gentoo'er since the early days. Will be happy to wait until something actionable may happen on this issue. Best Regards, -Chicago
