Description Marti Raudsepp 2004-08-02 17:24:15 UTC
The Gentoo IPv6 Router Guide states that "Just as DNS for IPv4 uses A records, DNS for IPv6 uses AAAA records." But in fact, the AAAA records are deprecated in favor of the new A6 records. While using the AAAA records for backwards compatibility should still be mentioned, the A6 records should be favored now.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Step-by-step? Ok.
1. Install Gentoo.
2. Install your favourite web browser.
3. Enter "http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/ipv6.xml#doc_chap4_sect1" to the address bar.
Actual Results:
Uninformed people will run off creating AAAA records everywhere.

Expected Results:
Uninformed people will be enlightened.
