After installing app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-5.0.24-r1 (currently keyworded ~amd64 and ~x86), I was unable to modprobe the newly-installed modules - vboxdrv, etc. It turned out after some debugging that I needed to use 'depmod' to regenerate the modules.dep file. As far as I can tell, this is supposed to happen automatically in linux-mod_pkg_postinst, but for some reason it doesn't seem to have done it. I don't know enough about linux-mod ebuilds to know why. This may be the case in other versions of this ebuild, too - I haven't tested those.
