The Xfree fails to build. I put emerge xfree and fails. 
Portage version ----> 2.0.23
Flags ----->     CFLAGS="-march=i686 -03 -pipe"
                         CXXFLAGS="-march=i686 -03 -pipe"

gcc version ---->  2.95.3

How much free space on all partitions ?

I have 10 Gb maxtor hd. 100M boot, 1000M swap and the rest for the /.

No is only when compiling xfree. Is also with others programs (gcc, glibc..., etc...)

I dont understand that last comment.  Do you also have problems compiling
gcc and glibc ?

The bug is solved... was the RAM.
