Description ng0 2016-08-12 10:52:53 UTC
With curl-7.50.1 and libressl as ssl provider, you can currently not update curl.

As I build curl with curl_ssl_libressl before, and the current curl (7.49.1) is configured with it, the error must be with the ebuild.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
make.conf: CURL_SSL="libressl"
emerge --sync; emerge -atv @world (OR just emerge -atv =net-misc/curl-7.50.1

Please provide the output of emerge -pv =net-misc/curl-7.50.1 and
(if applicable) a build log.

shikahr ~ # emerge -pv =net-misc/curl-7.50.1

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies -

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for =net-misc/curl-7.50.1
... done!

!!! The ebuild selected to satisfy "=net-misc/curl-7.50.1" has unmet requirements.
- net-misc/curl-7.50.1::gentoo USE="ipv6 ssl -adns -http2 -idn -kerberos -ldap -metalink -rtmp -samba -ssh -static-libs -test -threads" ABI_X86="64 -32 -x32" CURL_SSL="-axtls -gnutls -libressl -mbedtls
-nss -openssl -polarssl -winssl"

The following REQUIRED_USE flag constraints are unsatisfied:
    ssl? ( exactly-one-of ( curl_ssl_axtls curl_ssl_gnutls curl_ssl_libressl curl_ssl_mbedtls curl_ssl_nss curl_ssl_openssl curl_ssl_polarssl curl_ssl_winssl ) )

The above constraints are a subset of the following complete expression:
    curl_ssl_winssl? ( elibc_Winnt ) threads? ( !adns ) ssl? ( exactly-one-of ( curl_ssl_axtls curl_ssl_gnutls curl_ssl_libressl curl_ssl_mbedtls curl_ssl_nss curl_ssl_openssl curl_ssl_polarssl
curl_ssl_winssl ) )

I cannot reproduce. The ebuilds for version 7.49.1 and 7.50.1 are
identical.

Have you maybe switched from ~amd64 to amd64? curl_ssl_libressl is in
use.stable.mask. You need to unmask it in order to use it (just as you
need to do for the libressl use flag).

What does emerge -pv =net-misc/curl-7.49.1 say?

libressl is globally unmasked here, I configured the system with it when I did set it up. it is unmaksked.

how did you do that?
Comment 7 ng0 2016-08-16 17:58:49 UTC
How is this even "resolved"...?

So far I got someone who can't reproduce it and someone who asked me about libressl (however unrelated to this bug.. if it is related, please be more specific. I know how libressl is set up, to work. When I write "the system" I mean from stage3 setup on.).

But I don't have the time to care for bugs on your system, so I stopped using libressl on Gentoo and have no Gentoo VM available at the moment.
