Description Lukasz Strzygowski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-01 13:05:17 UTC
I had already asked on gentoo-dev but i haven't got any response. I would like to rename global USE flag "pdflib" to "pdf". This change has several advantages: "pdf" is more self-descripting for users and it is more general, so we can use it in more ebuilds (for example, see #57762).

Affected packages and their maintainers are:
app-text/xml2doc (text-markup@gentoo.org)
dev-lang/pike (scandium@gentoo.org)
net-mail/sylpheed-claws (net-mail@gentoo.org)
media-gfx/gnuplot (sci@gentoo.org)
media-gfx/grace (sci@gentoo.org)
dev-php/mod_php (php@gentoo.org)
dev-php/php-cgi (php@gentoo.org)

Please tell what do you think about it, and if you have no objection, modify suitably your packages.

I'd rather this change didn't happen. PHP supports more than one pdf library. How exactly are we supposed to work out which one the user wanted to use? ;-)

Best regards,
Stu

I see, thanks for information. Description of the "pdflib" in use.desc had misleaded me, and i thought it's generally for PDF support, not only for a specific library.
