Created attachment 441898 [details] how the menu looks without plasma-integration after the upgrade to kde-plasma/plasma-desktop-5.6.5, it looks terribly. After install kde-plasma/plasma-integration all comes as it was before the upgrade. I'd suggest to pull it in also in the base metapackage.
Since plasma-desktop also contains integration deps for qt4 and and gtk+2/3 this might be valid. However plasma-desktop is missing so much else I would not recommend it to anyone installing a Plasma desktop.
kde-plasma/plasma-meta-5.6.5 has a direct dependency on plasma-integration, what package/meta are you guys using?
(In reply to Ben Kohler from comment #2) > what package/meta are you guys using? AS the summary says: kde-plasma/plasma-desktop
Well that's not a meta, that's a single package that's part of plasma-meta. I think you're supposed to use plasma-meta, I guess kde team can tell us if your smaller setup is supposed to be supported.
Thanks a lot for testing! Dependency now added in git. https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=eb52283123039dff78cedbba392e4074114fd3e7 https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/kde.git/commit/?id=f983ba56657beeb67f74df8526f0689e5b6ee560
