I think, dev-db/mariadb should install not only /usr/lib*/mariadb.pc pkg-config files, which assumes that caller want to link against mariadb exactly, but also symlink "mysql.pc" on them, as mariadb positioned as drop-in replacement for mysql. Reproducible: Always

If I start to hear of builds actually looking for mysql.pc, then I might reconsider.
