Description Vadim A. Misbakh-Soloviov (mva) gentoo-dev 2016-07-21 16:58:43 UTC
I think, dev-db/mariadb should install not only /usr/lib*/mariadb.pc pkg-config files, which assumes that caller want to link against mariadb exactly, but also symlink "mysql.pc" on them, as mariadb positioned as drop-in replacement for mysql.

Reproducible: Always

I'm not sure if this will gain anything.

dev-db/mysql (even the future version of 5.7) does not create mysql.pc; It is unique to MariaDB.

If I start to hear of builds actually looking for mysql.pc, then I might reconsider.
