Description Carl Michal 2004-07-30 11:13:24 UTC
Openoffice-bin-1.1.1 and 1.1.2 seem to have some problems rendering formulas in impress. Rendering the formulas takes a long, long time (on a 3GHz cpu) and then
accents that should appear above (like hat, ddot etc) are not placed correctly, they overlap with the characters they should be above.

1.1.0 doesn't seem to have either problem.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start openoffice with ooffice
2. select file->new->presentation
3. next->next->create
4. ok
4. insert->object->formula
5. try "hat x + ddot y = hat %gamma

6. click back in the presentation to see the result.

Actual Results:
formula is rendered incorrectly.

Expected Results:
rendered correctly

A document with several longer formulae takes a very long time to render pages
with formulae.

It seems to render correctly for me (1.1.1 on this computer) and I don't seem to have speed problems. Did you make sure that enough fonts were configured through spadmin?
Comment 2 Carl Michal 2004-08-06 13:16:06 UTC
spadmin lists the same fonts for both 1.1.0 and 1.1.1:

I find 10 Bitstream Vera fonts followed by 4 LucidaBright, 4 LucidaSans, 4 LucidaTypewriter and one opensymbol.

Changing the variables font from the default Times New Roman to one of the bitstream fonts makes the accents render correctly.

Adding truetype (rg timesi.ttf) fonts for times via spadmin also corrects the problem. This apparently wasn't necessary in 1.1.0 ?

OOo deals with font setup through spadmin, so this is not a bug
