Description Rob Kennedy 2004-07-30 09:46:25 UTC
I have downloaded the 2004.2 Packages CD ISO for the P4 using BitTorrent.
I wanted to check the MD5 sum for ths ISO image before burning the CD. But I cannot find the MD5 sum for this ISO anywhere on the www.gentoo.org website (or on any of the mirrors for the Gentoo files).

It would appear that the MD5 sums and the digital signature are not on
the www.gentoo.org website (or any of the mirrors) for the following 2004.2 Package CD ISO's:

Pentium III
Pentium IV
Athon-XP

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Surf to www.gentoo.org
2. Look around -- No MD5 Sums for these ISO's
3. MD5's not in http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/releng/release/2004.2/2004.2-md5.txt

Actual Results:
Cannot not MD5's (or digital signatures) for these ISO's listed above.

Expected Results:
Please add MD5 sums and digital signatures for the ISO image files for the
2004.2 Package CD for P3, P4 and Athon-XP.

What about on the BitTorrent tracker page? I beleive that they were posted along with the ISO images.

Pretty sure this will be invalid, but check please

http://torrents.gentoo.org/
All the current releases (2004.3 atm) have their MD5s alongside the .iso torrent links.

The original poster wanted the 2004.2 MD5 which is a little trickier but a quick google of the expected filename found it
http://linux.ensimag.fr/iso/gentoo/2004.2/packagecd/packages-pentium4-2004.2.iso.md5

similar searching using the expected filenames for the other archs should result in similar results for old(er) releases.
