'lo devs. I was speaking about this proposal to seemant. To keep ebuilds/software always up-to-date AND to let users ask for enhancement directly to the ebuilds author, we should obviously have a list ( using a DB or a flat file ) with at least pkg - manteiner - email Moreover, we could also have a "Manteiner" voice when searching a pkg with 'emerge -s'. I've started doing this list. But, i thought, I'll be better if this list were @ chiba, and devs could update it. We would have two files. use.desc for USE flag and manteiner.desc for Manteiners. Hope this will be available _in_ gentoo 1.4. Of course, this is only my thought. regards, Maurizio Disimino

Take a look on http://www.gentoo.org/~zhware/maintain.html In the same directory are also maintain.dtd, maintain.xml and a simple maintain.xsl to render the xml file. Sections are in italic, packages - in bold. TODO: For some of the developers there are only the email addresses (i don't know their names :( ). Also now there is a lot of <task> tags. Better are they to become <pkg> or <section> tags. In this way we can do linking pkg<->developer.
No activity here from about 2 months. Seem nobody already interested. The result from my work is on http://cvs.gentoo.org/~zhware/devdb/ There are scripts from forming developer->package and package->developer relations from the ebuilds headers - map_devpkg.sh and map_pkgdev.sh. Sample results: http://cvs.gentoo.org/~zhware/devdb/dev_pkg.txt http://cvs.gentoo.org/~zhware/devdb/pkg_dev.txt
