There is a newer version of kde-misc/basket on its way, which should work with the recent framework 5. Right now its state is alpha. More information on that here:https://launchpad.net/basket The download can be found here: https://launchpad.net/basket/kde5/2.49a or better: https://launchpad.net/basket/kde5/2.49a/+download/basket-2.49-alpha.tar.bz2 I hope that helps a bit. regards - Ines
Created attachment 449996 [details] kde-misc/basket-2.49a.ebuild Here is an ebuild for basket 2.49a using kde5. It adds the following use flags compared to the current portage version (1.81): - git: enable git autocommit feature - kde: enable building of kpart (requires kdepimlibs) Whereas the git feature is new in 2.49a, the kde switch could be backported to basket-1.81 to make kdepimlibs:4 dependency optional.
Is there any kind of official homepage or source code repository? Last time I searched, I didn't find any. Is this a fork then?
Somehow yes, on github : https://github.com/basket-notepads/basket version 2.49a corresponds to the head of "kde5port" branch. The most recent commits date from August, but are not merged yet in kde5port. The kde5 version works pretty well so far, a rather good news.
Thanks a lot. Right now I'd say "works for me" however I forgot to update it, just deleted the old basket 1.81 and reinstalled basket-2.49a with USE="-kde". Therefore there might be some trouble when updating. regards - Ines
(In reply to Panard from comment #3) > Somehow yes, on github : > https://github.com/basket-notepads/basket I see that's a fork from the author's original import from gitorious, nothing merged back yet, but it is a good sign that several different people are committing steadily with at least some KDE dev included.
Thank you all, basket-2.49a is now in tree per commit 5a7da644264009b841349d917f243d4949dd35ec
