The 217 version is the first one of nss_ldap with which I have gotten systems to work better with a TLS connection to a directory server. It wouldn't propably hurt to go for 220 either... There are problems with some services, but part of those could be considered security improvements and not bugs. Like disabling on most Linux boxes the root login via ssh. :) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

robin, while we try and expand the nss and/or ldap teams, can you take this one over (raker is ex-dev)
Jukka: could you take a stab at updating the ebuilds for these, and reporting back here. I'm really busy lately with real life.
I understand your feeling. :) Well, I can try. I am working on these modules at work, so it wouldn't propably be such a big job to do it here as well. ;)
Jukka: seeing your experience working for Nokia doing LDAP stuff on Linux and UNIX, perhaps you'd be interested in joining us to work on LDAP related things?
Well, why not. Would be a good experience for me.
new versions in cvs. jukka: email me about working with gentoo for doing nss/ldap stuff.
