From a working configuration of cups-1.1.20-r1 which allows normal access to port 631 on the server machine, but requires an encrypted connection (set to port 443 in the config) in order to access the Administration section. All working fine under 1.1.20-r1. Updated to 1.1.21_rc1. Connecting to port 631 lists all the usual things, shows all the printers etc. Upon connecting to port 443 (the encrypted port) in order to do any administration is where the hair-pulling starts : there are no printers listed! In fact, it's as if there is no configuration at all because there are no device drivers listed when you try to add a printer either. Go back to the non-encrypted port, all the printers are there. The logs only show this fairly uninformative (to me) error: I [30/Jul/2004:10:37:36 +1000] Started "/usr/lib/cups/cgi-bin/printers.cgi" (pid=1604) E [30/Jul/2004:10:37:36 +1000] Bad request line "^A^C^A" from localhost! E [30/Jul/2004:10:37:37 +1000] [CGI] CUPS-Get-Printers request failed - server-error-internal-error (500) Reverting back to cups 1.1.20-r1 fixes the problem. Any ideas?
