Description Loren Bandiera 2004-07-28 14:39:29 UTC
Upgraded amavisd-new from 2003 20030616_p9 to 20040701 and replaced my amavisd.conf with the one provided by 20040701. I then set a couple of options per my server. Attempting to re-start the daemon gives the error:

/etc/init.d/amavisd start
 * Starting amavisd-new...
Array found where operator expected at /etc/amavisd.conf line 1506, at end of line
        (Missing semicolon on previous line?)
Error in config file /etc/amavisd.conf: syntax error at /etc/amavisd.conf line 1506, near "@av_scanners "

I copied /usr/portage/mail-filter/amavisd-new/files/amavisd.conf to /etc and tried to re-start again but got the same error.

I re-set my options and then I added a ';' above line 1506. That fixed the problem and the daemon started up and works fine.

I couldn't find the actual line that was missing the ';' though. I looked around the file but it wasn't anywhere obvious.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge amavisd-new
2. etc-update (replace /etc/amavisd.conf)
3. /etc/init.d/amavisd-new restart

Actual Results:
 * Starting amavisd-new...
Array found where operator expected at /etc/amavisd.conf line 1506, at end of line
        (Missing semicolon on previous line?)
Error in config file /etc/amavisd.conf: syntax error at /etc/amavisd.conf line
1506, near "@av_scanners "

Expected Results:
* Starting amavisd-new...                                                [ ok ]
