Maintainership request: app-arch/lrzip/lrzip
Comment 1 Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2016-06-17 11:52:21 UTC
Do I understand correctly that you wish to be the proxied maintainer of this package?
Comment 2 Yanestra 2016-06-18 00:43:58 UTC
Correct. Since nobody else does, I'll try.
Comment 3 Yanestra 2016-06-21 11:47:57 UTC
Can you tell me how to proceed?
Comment 4 Amy Liffey gentoo-dev 2016-06-21 15:39:20 UTC
I linked you here two bugs which are for your package. Being maintainer means you should fix them and submit that fix by bugzilla or github.

Thanks

I am sorry I don't understand do you mean acknowledgement on this Maintainership request or did I miss something else?

We will change metadata and add you as maintainer after you fix at least one of those bugs.

Thanks

Amy

Sorry, ACK from my side, I will send an ebuild as soon as I have a running Gentoo installation back (I have a driver problem).
Comment 8 Yanestra 2016-07-02 23:48:45 UTC
Hi, I submitted the ebuild about a week ago. If there is a problem with it, comments would be appreciated. Anyway, it hasn't made appearance in the portage tree yet.

I'm sorry but I can't find it. Where did you submit it?

EAPI 6, please. Remove static libs as requested in the other bug. --docdir is redundant in EAPI 5.

Sorry, I have not exactly an idea what I am doing, but apparently it might be ok.
Comment 14 Yanestra 2016-07-04 21:44:39 UTC
Can you pls have a look at the new ebuild, it should do what you requested.

app-arch/lrzip: add proxy-maintainer bug #586132
Comment 16 Amy Liffey gentoo-dev 2016-07-06 16:59:04 UTC
Since there have been made big changes to this ebuild during version bump I would suggest if there were no bugs you submit stable request after 30 days without no bugs in tree. So we can remove old bad ones.

Thanks
Comment 17 Yanestra 2016-09-02 01:32:14 UTC
Sry, but the handling of my changes to the ebuild remains enigmatic to me. Obviously, it doesn't matter what I do. Somebody else rules and actually commits whatever he or she likes, for whatever reason remains obscure, since he or she does not communicate with me.

Therefore, I quit that job formally. Gentoo should elaborate its maintainer rules - in the way experienced, it is completely unacceptable.
