It appears that this is an error when updating the cache... but the actual sync works fine.  :)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge sync
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
error on updating the cache

Expected Results:  
Clean sync

It's in there now. Fixed.
