I'm using a broadcom 5700 network card on my K8T Master2-FAR (onboard) and a driver from Broadcom, distributed under GPL2 since a while (February 2004). I never got problems, everything worked fine, so why don't you add this patch to you r kernel? I'm sure that I'm not the only person using this bcm5700 :D I added the patch-file I used to patch manually with 'patch -p1 -d /usr/src/linux bcm5700-7.1.22-2.6.0.patch' Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 36282 [details, diff] bcm5700-7.1.22-2.6.0.patch I've modified the original broadcom-patch in the last 5 or 6 lines because of a change in drivers/net/Makefile.
please note that this patch only works on i386, ia64 and x86_64 according to README.TXT
ok, just using the tg3 module would have resolved the problem - closing
