Description latenite 2016-06-12 20:13:46 UTC
The man page of 'udevadm' states for the 'control' option that a '-x' or a '--exit' may be used. Only the latter workd.

Using -x fails like this:

control: invalid option -- 'x'

What version of udev do you have installed?
Comment 2 Mike Gilbert gentoo-dev 2016-06-13 02:48:52 UTC
The help output has the correct short option '-e'.

% udevadm control --help
udevadm control COMMAND

Control the udev daemon.

  -h --help Show this help
     --version Show package version
-e --exit Instruct the daemon to cleanup and exit

Would you mind creating an issue upstream please?

I'm also copying the eudev team since they have the same bug.

Looks like this has been fixed upstream. We will pick it up in the next release.
