Description stefan 2004-07-27 05:52:16 UTC
Hi,

the last release of mod_security had the version 1.7.6
So I still build a new ebuild on the base of the old version.
Maybe it is usefull (for the Maintainer?).

mod_security-1.8.3

ciao, Stefan

These will/are updated in the apache herd's overlay (see #gentoo-apache for more info :-) We'll also be tracking this stuff a lot more now there are loads of us in the herd.. I'll try and push this out (or bug a dev who can ;-) asap.
Comment 6 Julien Allanos (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-02 01:33:50 UTC
1.8.5 is out.
Comment 7 stefan 2004-11-05 11:00:31 UTC
While it seems that these package wont ever come into the official CVS I wont commit any new ebuilds. If you like to get the newest ebuilds go to this page:
http://www.seekline.net/gentoo

PS: the last two releases where only for maintainance, so if anybody is interested in using the newest version, you only have to change the doc-stuff in the ebuild and rename it, thats it :)
PSS: the last official version is 1.7.6! debian's latest version is 1.8.4....do you have to think twice??? debian is more recent than gentoo....have a nice weekend!

Comment 13 stefan 2004-12-25 13:30:16 UTC
Yeah what should I say, there are now 5 mounths ago I've created this bug-report and the only words I hear are like comment #5, so I gave up.

If somebody cares I've created e new ebuild for the upcoming version 1.9.
Any testing would be appreciated (and don't forget to email me your results :-)).
Comment 14 Stuart Herbert (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-27 12:14:42 UTC
Stefan,

Gentoo is a community distribution, created and maintained by volunteers. If things aren't moving fast enough for you, please drop by in #gentoo-apache on IRC and get involved ;-)

On the 8th January, we're refreshing every single Apache-related ebuild in the tree. Until then, we're in a self-imposed feature freeze, so that we can try and catch as many bugs as possible. See our announcement in GWN (also on numerous mailing lists including gentoo-announce) for full details.

Best regards,
Stu

1.8.6 is in cvs which uses the new apache-module.eclass and so is still masked. please unmask and test
