Bug #579148 is addressed in ccid-1.4.23, but meanwhile even ccid-1.4.24 has been released, see https://alioth.debian.org/frs/?group_id=30105.

Please update app-crypt/ccid in portage! (:

For everyone who can't wait, as a workaround: you can create ccid-1.4.24.ebuild by copying ccid-1.4.22.ebuild and changing STUPID_NUM to "4171". Don't forget ebuild ccid-1.4.24.ebuild digest afterwards.
