I am missing dosfsck in sys-fs/dosfstools-4.0: root@lynx:/root(52)# qlist -Iv dosfstools sys-fs/dosfstools-4.0 root@lynx:/root(53)# qlist -v dosfstools /usr/sbin/fsck.fat /usr/sbin/fatlabel /usr/sbin/mkfs.fat /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/TODO.dosfstools-2.x.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/README.dosfstools-2.x.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/ChangeLog.dosfsck.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/README.dosfsck.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/ChangeLog.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/TODO /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/NEWS.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/ChangeLog.mkdosfs.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/ANNOUNCE.mkdosfs.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/README.mkdosfs.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/README.bz2 /usr/share/doc/dosfstools-4.0/ChangeLog.dosfstools-2.x.bz2 /usr/share/man/man8/fsck.fat.8.bz2 /usr/share/man/man8/mkfs.fat.8.bz2 /usr/share/man/man8/fatlabel.8.bz2
Why did you file this as a security issue?
You are probably looking for USE=compat. compat : Install symlinks for legacy names of the tools
Mike is correct -- this is WAI assuming you built with USE=-compat (which is hard to tell as you didn't attach build logs to your report like all are supposed to)
(In reply to Mike Gilbert from comment #1) > Why did you file this as a security issue? Sorry, this was not my intention.
Thanks to SpanKY and Mike Gilbert, the missing compat USE flag for dosfstools was the reason. With compat I have now again dosfsck.
