whenever i start up gnome (from reboot, etc) and login as root or as myself an error about gnome-settings-daemon comes up over and over and it speaks of having no configuration for me for sound, desktop, themes, there is no menu bars for me, they dont appear.
reallyyy sorry for consuming your time on my 'bug'! i went into the tmp directory and removed all the folders and settings i beleive ( i think they were empty..) but what i did was: cd /tmp ~~>> rm -rf gconfd-* and then i cd /usr/libexec ~~>> ./gnome-settings-daemon and wamm! worked.. this fellow is happy. hope this helps somebody else out.. :)
