After booting the 2004.2 Universal CD there is no /proc/config as stated in the MOTD file. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.boot LiveCD 2004.2 Universal 2.ls /proc/config Actual Results: ls: /proc/config: No such file or directory Expected Results: /proc/config
Hi... which kernel did you boot? Did you look and see if it was /proc/config.gz?
Yep, I looked for /proc/config* and there's nothing there. I've also noticed that it may be a feature of genkernel as the option to add the /proc/config no longer seems to be in the menu when configuring it. I just booted the standard gentoo kernel from the cd, the 2.4.x one (sorry, can't remember the exact version numbers).
Bah... that patch is no longer included in the gentoo-sources patch set. It is available when you boot with the "smp" kernel, which is 2.6.7-gentoo-r11.
Well... this is *sorta* being fixed... we just aren't going to use a 2.4 kernel on the next LiveCD, at all, so the kernel we do use will have /proc/config.gz
