I succesfully merged and test radeontool version 1.6.3 on a PowerBook G4 1.67 GHz 15" alubook. All features seem to be OK, except for the secondary display output enable; but I suspect another issue about this feature, not directly related to this package.
Then, I suggest this app-laptop/radeontool 1.6.3 to be marked as stable on PPC architecture.

I finally tested succesfully the radeontool dac on/off feature; the only issue was the DVI output seems analog only and I was trying to check digital output on an HDMI screen.
Then, all features are OK for me on my PowerBook G4 1.67 Ghz 15" alubook.
