Description Thomas Beutin 2016-05-12 14:29:06 UTC
i cannot enable the v0.4 plugin, because the admin interfaces says:
"Error: this app cannot be enabled because it makes the server unstable"

An update to the suggested v0.7 within the admin interface brings the owncloud instance into maintenance mode. Than this instace stays there until i disable the maintenance mode manually.

The only hint in the error logs i've found is:
May 12 16:20:43 XYZ postgres[9632]: [3-1] ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "oc_preferences_pkey"
May 12 16:20:43 XYZ postgres[9632]: [3-2] STATEMENT: INSERT INTO "oc_preferences" ("userid", "appid", "configkey", "configvalue") VALUES($1, $2, $3, $4)
May 12 16:20:44 XYZ postgres[9632]: [4-1] ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "oc_preferences_pkey"
May 12 16:20:44 XYZ postgres[9632]: [4-2] STATEMENT: INSERT INTO "oc_preferences" ("userid", "appid", "configkey", "configvalue") VALUES($1, $2, $3, $4)

i use postgresql as database backend.

btw: the update of other plugins (i.e. contacts or calendar) worked w/o any problem.

I know that this bug is somewhat vague, but i'm happy to deal with any hints you have. So please do not hesitate to request more info!

Thanks for the report!

The bookmarks plugin is not provided with owncloud itself, so there is probably nothing to do on the Gentoo part of the setup. Your problem looks like:
https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues/23213
Does the rule suggested there help?

Also the owncloud log could help explaining why it goes to maintenance mode (it should be something like /var/www/localhost/htdocs/owncloud/data/owncloud.log )

it seems you are right: in a new installation i cannot find the bookmarks plugin. I just have it because i updated the current installation many times.

i'll check this (soon).

this also is something i'll check next days.

Hm, on a fresh installation i've found the Bookmarks v0.4.2 app in the
Apps -> Productivity section.
But enabling was not possible:
"Error while enabling app"

It worked fine here (both on my current install and a fresh test one), what does the owncloud log report? You can get it through the admin gui or directly in data/owncloud.log

In the Apps section of the OwnCloud installation i see:
"Archives of type are not supported"

And the data/owncloud.log of this installation says:

After updating the installation to v9.1.0 i ended up with an outdated "Full Text Search" plugin. Trying to update results in:

App can't be installed because the version in info.xml is not the same as the version reported from the app store

A try of enabling the bookmark v0.4.2 plugin ends with the message:

Error: this app cannot be enabled because it makes the server unstable

btw: at least the update of the plugin worked now ;)

Ok, in a fresh v9.1.0 installation there is neither a "Full Text Search" nor a "Bookmarks" plugin. The problem seems to be fixed by now.
Comment 9 Bernard Cafarelli gentoo-dev 2016-08-07 21:45:24 UTC
Thanks for the update! I am glad it is at least fixed in a fresh 9.1 setup
