Description dieter ferdinand 2016-04-27 18:10:49 UTC
hello,
today, i try to update one of my gentoo systems and i have again trouble with perl.

last time, i try to update perl, i need to install two perl-version at same time, to install/update the installed/needed perl-modules.

every time, i get such a message:
  (dev-lang/perl-5.22.1:0/5.22::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
    =dev-lang/perl-5.22* required by (virtual/perl-Time-HiRes-1.972.600-r2:0/0::gentoo, installed)

if i try to install the modul, which need a new perl-version standalone or with nodeps, it works.

but why must i update/install some perl-modules every time with nodeps, while somebody write to the portage-file, that this modul need the newest version of perl?

this need every time much time to solve such problems.

goodby

It is sad to read that you have problems with Perl dependencies.
We can not help you efficiently via bug tracker. The bug tracker aims rather on specific problems in .ebuilds and less on individual systems.

I have had very good experience on the gentoo IRC [1] and stackexchange with questions like this. Of course there are also forums and mailing lists.

I hope you understand, that I will close the bug here therefore and wish you good luck on one of the mentioned channels.
