media-libs/xpm ignores gentoo CFLAGS, it uses its own flags -O2 etc..

ok, I have placed an -r1 ebuild in portage and masked it, so PLEASE test it and
report back in this bug report.

It works. Why did you add -fno-strength-reduce to the CFLAGS in the ebuild?

what does that flag mean?
