There is a new version out with some ("a lot") bug fixes Reproducible: Always
Can we expect any ETA on an official update by the haskell team? Just wondering as this seems to not have received much attention so far and I think the current portage version has issues with tables when converting them via LaTeX to pdf.
To bump to a new version of pandoc we need to pull in http-client-0.5 (USE=https). I've not started it yet in ::haskell overlay thus don't know how many packages will break. I might be able to try the bump this weekend.
If someone pushes pandoc plus deps to ::haskell then I am willing to report any breakages I find on my setup for the current versions (pandoc plus deps). I for one am not smart enough yet to write/maintain packages so I can only test, not develop.
FYI: 1.19.1 is out https://github.com/jgm/pandoc/releases/tag/1.19.1 (but you probably knew that already) More important for me: I see that <=1.18 is in the overlay. Will a newer version than the current 1.15 arrive in the main tree soon (whenish?), or should I install from the overlay? What issues should I be aware of in case I do the latter?
It'd be nice to have pandoc updated now that GHC 8 hit the tree. I see a lot of dep packages failing to build, so I cannot even try building current pandoc with GHC 8.
Yes, I've messed up ghc bump. A lot of packages are about to be updated including pandoc.
(In reply to Sergei Trofimovich from comment #6) > […] A lot of packages are about to be updated > including pandoc. I would be very happy if you would go all the way and include pandoc >=1.19.2! (It uses a new, better syntax highlighting library)

(It uses a new, better syntax highlighting library) I'd like to do it after we get pandoc-1.18 in tree. Currently ::haskell overlay includes pandoc-1.18 and is in mostly consistent usable state. We didn't pull in pandoc-1.19 there yet. Once we do pull it in and fix reverse dependencies we can move it quicker to ::gentoo.
pandoc-1.18 is pushed as: https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/app-text/pandoc?id=17d4a3e638639c8c8421a219b338e43168e2c1d9 I'll try to get 1.19 to overlay today.
Pushed pandoc-1.19.2.1 as: https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/?id=052a47107cbcd3339904be54c69bce70cc99886f Thanks everyone!
