Geeqie-1.2.3 has been released, please include it in portage. http://www.geeqie.org/
Thanks for the report! Looks like next version will have cogl support fixed, and has merged the gtk3 support patch we have. But in the meantime, 1.2.3 is in tree
The patch is still needed, at least on my system. I know my upstream bug is marked as resolved, but apparently it is not. Moreover it seems that a new GTK3 related regression has occurred - now I can't resize any element of the UI. I have bumped developers about it in the same bug (migrated to github): https://github.com/BestImageViewer/geeqie/issues/227
Apparently the commit to solve GTK3 issue was not included in the current release. So, it might be reasonable to consider replacing old and crude patch with https://github.com/BestImageViewer/geeqie/commit/a174e816ae993e7ee9731651b2674dbfdec9ed95
Yes, that's what I meant in comment 1, next version after 1.2.3 will have the fix and other compilation updates (sorry if it was not clear). In the meantime, I switched to upstream commit for gtk3 patch, this is now in 1.2.3-r1 ebuild
