Hi, I was attempting to emerge sun-jdk and was directed to sun's download page for version 1.4.2.04. I could only find version 1.4.2.05 on the sun's download page. I believe the portage tree needs to be updated so that the officially available stable version can be downloaded installed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
this has been changed a week ago have you sync'ed recently?
Yes, I sync'ed immediately prior to filing the bug report. Just in case changes to the portage tree had not filtered down to the rsync server I am using (rsync.europe.gentoo.org) I sync'ed again just now. When I originally installed gentoo (a week ago) I had to force emerge to put version 1.4-02-05 on the system. However, 'emerge -pDuv world' still wishes to downgrade sun-jdk to version 1.4.2-04-r2 -which I am unable to obtain from sun's download site. i.e. These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating world dependencies ...done! [ebuild FUD] dev-java/sun-jdk-1.4.2.04-r2 [1.4.2.05] +doc +gnome -jce +kde +mozilla 35,001 kB
well .05 is still ~x86 masked, so put it in your package.keywords or use the .04 if you emerge .04-r2 it should provide you with a direct url to download the correct files
Thomas, Thank you. My mistake. Looks like I did not carefully read the instructions following the initial 'emerge sun-jdk' which provides the precise url to get 1.4.2-04 from. Sorry to have bothered you.
