Description cristiano04 2016-04-06 22:53:18 UTC
There is a collection of patches that aims to harden chromium, as well as remove google services. You will find them here: https://github.com/Eloston/ungoogled-chromium
There's also the inox patch set https://github.com/gcarq/inox-patchset and so on.

This is essentially a feature request, but it would be nice to have additional USE flags to cover those patches and, as such, I propose:

-google (minus google, default is +), with most of the ungoogled-chromium patchset
hardened, with most of the other patches, including the ones from iridium

Patches that should be applied by default: gpu-timeout.patch, ps-print.patch, promo.patch.

Reproducible: Always

I don't think we have any interest in apply third party patches.

-1 from me.

I am against as developer time is better spent elsewhere.

Applying a patch barely counts as 'developer time' as the patches are re-based after every stable branch release and don't need to be maintained.
